Inspired by the nature and beauty found in the backcountry of the West Coast of the United States and her travels around the world, Jess uses these inspirations and pictures to create the prints and art seen in her gallery and print shop. Through different mediums, she curates a harmonious work flow and aesthetic. Even though some pieces are completely individual in their own right they are all inspired by nature and the outdoors.
Block Printing
Linoleum Cutting is a form of print making that Jess has fallen in love with in the last few years. She loves to create and try many different types of mediums but Block Printing has quickly become one of her favorites! This technique of print making starts with a sheet of linoleum and you carve away the material using wood carving tools to create the negative space in your images. It’s so versatile and you can stack layers upon layers, but it is very unforgiving if you take away too much material as there is no going back.
